As I mentioned I have employed a drawing board in my practice. It is a piece of plywood 6mm thick. On it there is a 60cm circle divided into 48 sections like a 2-dimensional cake with 48 pieces. At 3 and 9 o’clock, I taped stuck 2 drawing pins upside down. On the pins, I can place my rulers and make single point perspectives. It has been necessary to build my voids. It makes it possible to fill the drawings with lines that are seldom parallel to each other. The utility of the drawing board is to move the drawing in 15-minute increments. It makes for rather elaborate crosshatchings. THIS METHOD OF MOVING THE DRAWING HAS NOT BEEN EMPLOYED IN DRAWING NR648. I use the drawings to look into my mind in the morning. I observe ideas pass and sometimes reemerge. The practice is a filter. As I draw I am pushed towards some other activity. Then I take a walk usually with the missus. Nr 648 has 3 line elements. Single point perspective, horizontals and verticals. I prefer it when little disturbs the void.
