6120 ± 360 lines, millions of intersections

The drawing consists of 36 layers of hand-drawn lines, each at a different angle, filling a 10×10 cm field. The meditative process serves as both a measurement of time and labor and a study of structure and density.

Each layer contains between 170 and 190 lines, adjusted for its inclination, resulting in more than 6,120 lines in the final artefact. These variations emerge through the hand-drawn process, executed with a ruler and a fountain pen, where an inclination toward precision meets the inevitability of minute deviations.

As each layer intersects with the others, they create millions of intersection points—points of connection, disruption, and emergence. A layer placed at 90° creates more intersections than one placed at 10°, yet paradoxically, layers at very small angles (e.g., 0.01° apart) still intersect thousands of times. No two lines are ever perfectly parallel by hand; every deviation introduces an inevitable substructure—anomalies within the system.

Thus, the drawing approaches resolution as a conceptual dogma, distinct from the notion of size.

The result is an accumulation that moves beyond individual marks—each precise yet subject to microvariations—into a linear field of density, where structure and uncertainty coexist. The work can be understood within the context of process-based and conceptual art traditions, merging quantifiable precision with the unpredictability of human execution.

At its core, it seeks to convey calm—a counterpoint to the fragmented information systems of contemporary society—and visualizes itself as a remnant in a quest for stillness and independent thought.

This replica carries the essence of the original—a facsimile of an unrepeatable, yet reconstructable, act.
